Dr. Justiniano is a woundcare specialist in St Augustine, FL but was born and raised in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Dr. J is married, a dog and bird lover, lady has always wanted to be a physician following her uncle steps. Finished her bachelors in biology with a minor in psychology graduating from University of Puerto Rico , she decided to start medicine studies in Santo Domingo Dominican Republic graduating on 2005. She went back to PR and finished her training as physician of one of the most prestigious hospitals in the Island, Hospital de la Concepcion in San German. While she study she realized the importance to manage her patients with severe co-morbidities such as Diabetes and peripheral vascular disease complications and she decided to get board certified in one of the most challenging specialties in order to help her patients to save their limbs. She became board certified by American College of Certified Wound Specialists, for the American Alliance and for the American Physicians Wound Specialist on 2010, and to completely cover this challenging specialty she became Board Certified on Hyperbaric Medicine by International Board of Undersea Medicine on that same year. She trained for her wound care certifications in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa and St. Petersburg Fl, returning then to her beloved island of Puerto Rico. She used to work as a medical director for three hyperbaric and wound care facilities on the island including the one at Hospital de la Concepcion, University Hospital Federico Trilla, and Bella vista Wound Care Center as well as practicing her own practice as a primary care physician. She also work as a consultant for Healogics INC. one of the biggest wound care and hyperbaric companies in the world. She used to be educative speaker for Abbot nutrition as well as for Systagenic (former KCI and Johnson & Johnson) Given her drive to serve have went on several humanitarian missions being the most life changing for her the experience she lived in Haiti right after the last earthquake. She have also went to Mexico, Chile, and Bolivia on missionary trips doing what she love the most… serve. She also spend 1 yr in Canada practicing hyperbaric oxygen therapy among labeled and off label uses. Back in 2018 and after 12 years of practice in PR, she decided to come back to Florida to continue to grow her expertise in wound care. Being a sweet, kind, humble, humanitarian, dedicated and empathic physician as her patients used to describe her she has born to serve and do what she likes the most…her medicine. Dr. Justiniano is welcoming new patients at her St.Augustine office.
